This restaurant is amazing. The food quality is excellent, but what really stands out is the staff who go above and beyond to help. The stovies here are phenomenal, and the chicken pies are the best in the Northeast region without a doubt. Definitely worth a visit.

Each bakery in the area has their own unique version, so it really comes down to personal preference. Since Atkin's Bakery closed, Murdoch Allan is the only one that comes close to that distinctive taste. I highly recommend checking them out - they take online orders, do home deliveries, and their products freeze well. Very happy customer. J.Y.

The butteries in this restaurant are the worst in the northeast. It's a shame that they are serving such disgusting versions of this beloved local delicacy.

We usually go here for food to take away. There is a really good selection of soup, sandwiches and hot pies of all kinds. You can also choose from hot meals such as Stovies, Macaroni Cheese, Mince Tatties, Curry or Sweet Sour Chicken etc. I believe the meals would vary sometimes. We chose to eat in last time and I had lovely meaty Stovies with beetroot and oatcakes, and my husband had Mince Tatties.We took cakes home with us, as a treat for later. The prices are very reasonable and the portions generous, and the shop is well worth a visit.
