Poachers - Aberdeen City

The service and staff at the restaurant were not impressive. I had the chicken breast with bubble and squeak in a delicious creamy sauce. There are many other nice restaurants within walking distance, so I likely won't be dining at the hotel restaurant again.

I lived only 4 miles away from Poachers for years before finally deciding to visit, and I am so glad I did! The service was friendly, the food was fabulous, and the chicken stuffed with stilton in a port/cream sauce was to die for. This is country cooking at its finest! I give it 5 stars for a great price.

My parents and I went to this restaurant on a weekday evening. We had an early meal, so the place was not very crowded. The staff were welcoming and competent, the food was decent pub fare - tasty but not too exciting. We were seated by a window with a beautiful view of the river and the hotel grounds. I have to say, if I were staying at the hotel, I might have been disappointed by the limited menu. But for our mid-week dinner, it was perfectly fine.
