Music was lovely, Gettysburg Rocks Weekend, food was yummy, loved the brie app. Atmosphere was nice, we sat downstairs in pub area. But with such a lovely restaurant, wish the ranch dressing was homemade overall, a nice restaurant, prices were pretty pricey though, especially the specials! Complimentary potatoe chips, balsamic Parm is FANTASTIC!
We visit the Altland House a few times a year and we always have a good experience. The food is delicious, the service is great and the prices are reasonable. Our favorite dish is the Chicken and Waffles, a delicious regional dish which they have refined to perfection. We will continue to visit and recommend to friends.
Classy old world tavern restaurant with overpriced food menu and flowers on the table that looked real until you touch them. I took a friend here as a birthday treat and left disappointed. We ordered the crab cake entree for $34. I have had good lump crab cakes for half the price so my expectations were high that it would be great based on the price point. The crab cake was fine but the carrots were limpy and the wild rice somewhat crunchy. We also ordered the coconut curry mussels for $17 which was disappointing. I expected curry to be savory and spicy but it was far too sweet albeit with some heat. The mussels though were fresh and not overcooked. The small selection of beers on tap was decent and hoppy.
We love the Altland House when we are in the mood for something a bit nicer than the standard chain restaurants. The menu is very interesting, the food is delicious, and the price is reasonable.
