The Baron Bar & Grill - Abbotsford

This place used to have a decent menu, but that has changed. The food was inedible. $14 for a take out container with tortilla chips and store bought salsa plus a few gummy onion rings. This is not value for my money.

Stopped in for lunch, the menu is small, maybe 6 items to choose from, but I like that. I ordered the bacon cheese burger it said is was handmade patty. It was not, it came from a box. It had the store made score char marks on it, not juicy and not cooked all the way. Decor is lovely and waitress is friendly, but I won't eat there again.

After a trying day of work my wife and i ocassionally call in somewhere on the way home for a good beer. 2 weeks ago we decided on the Baron, at bbotsford Airport, just a bit out of our way. -We arrived about 6 and found very few people there. We ordered a Granville Honey lager and a Heffy and they were served quickly and wonderfully cold. We noticed an 'appy ' special of Pulled pork bun with fries for 9.95 and ordered one to share. -It was beatiful and the fries were out of this world. Absolutely the best ever ! We liked it so much we wnnt back for dinner next Sunday with our grandson and again it was fantastic. We'll be going there much more often in future.

We had been here several times in the past but had not been here in over a year. Since then the menu has changed a lot along with the ownership. We went for lunch on a Friday afternoon and the one waitress was literally running to keep up. There was a group of twelve plus a few others but she was the only one working the area. The menu is quite limited compared to the past choices with nothing really special. We shared the club house sandwich with salad and fries. The fries were nice and crisp, which we like, the sandwich quite loaded although very salty. I noted the bacon was not cooked quite enough so it was very chewy. We waited a long time for our order and during that time, two sets of customers left due to the slow service. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry so were okay waiting. Food was just average and nothing to make us go back again. The one woman serving the tables was very friendly and trying very hard to do her job. The best thing about the place is the location to watch some of the small planes and helicopters taking off and landing.

The Baron used to be my staff's go-to place for drinks and apples on a Friday afternoon. The menu was large and diverse, including many different drinks, and the patio was one of the best in Abby; large, sunny, quiet yet happening. I don't know if they changed owners, or what, but when I went here with friends the other day, the menu was not only shortened, they were physically dirty. There was NO drink menu, and they couldn't even cobble together a margarita or other blended drink. The waitresses, who used to be in snappy black and red outfits, were no longer dressed professionally. The patio was dirty, with garbage flying off the tables and not picked up by staff. We were all profoundly disappointed, and I have to say, we won't be in a hurry to return. I hope whoever owns and operates the Baron pulls it back out of the fire; it would be a shame to lose it because it fills a much needed niche in Abby. But until they improve, I won't be giving them my business.
