Contribuiți la feedbackI arrived with a great buddy at the supper rush and we were seated right away. We ordered a couple of the on tap beers and a Pepperoni Pizza. WOW! The pizza was unbelievably delicious, there is just something about a fresh, brick oven cooked pizza. My bro and I sat across from each other, stealing the occasional knowing look. We both knew there was something in the air that night but were afraid to admit it. I looked soulfully into my near empty beer glass and after gaining a spec of confidence I whispered "I just can't quit you"..... Thankfully our waitress was nearby and heard me and knew instantly that I needed another beer. So to summarize, great place, authentic, local, and friendly. I was happy to be able to share this place with my bro, in a purely platonic way of course.
This pizza is knock your socks off delicious. Every. Freakin. Time. And just when you think maybe you should take a break from this blissful treat, they come out with a new feature and you have to order more. We usually do takeout (four kids makes home eating easier), and the food is always ready when promised. I would be banished from the house if I didn't also come home with the onion rings and fresh chips. We've traveled to other countries and had what was supposed to be the "best" pizza, and my husband and I always say "not as good as Duft".
The food here is great! I have dined in before but this was my first time ordering a pizza for pick up. I ordered 35 minutes before I wanted to pick up but ended up waiting for another 10 minutes once I got there. That was my only disappointment. The flavour of the pizzas was excellent. I will definitely be back to sit on their patio!!
I'd been waiting to eat at Brickhouse. Maybe the anticipation was part of the problem. Let's start with the good. The pizza dough - crisp, chewy, a slight tang of sourdough. By far my favourite in town although my dining partner disagreed. The dessert: inspired. I had the lemon tart. Sublime. The pizza itself would have been incredible but was far too salty at the expense of flavour. The drink menu would from more choices to accommodate for better pairings. This is serious, you guys. My creamy, gooey bechamel had an adequate brewed consort. Not so for the meat menage ordered by my companion. So. More choices please. The atmosphere felt bustling and hip. A little too bustling (read: noisy, elbow-to-elbow crowded). But lovely and clean. This place is a bit expensive for what you get, and at the price there are more delicious options in town.Come here to people watch. I'll come back to pick up dessert.
If you've ever been to Duft & Co Bakehouse then you know what kind of quality to expect when Tyler and Cassandra are in the kitchen. The Brickhouse more than lives up to the reputation they have established in Abbotsford. The menu offers the comforts of familiar classics - timber-fired pepperoni pizza and a macaroni and cheese that is so good you might neglect your date - alongside an invitation to try something new. There's a pizza with honey, one with garlic cream and a rotating daily special. I haven't had a chance to try them all yet, but give me time. This time I had the prosciutto and arugula pizza with béchamel sauce and it was delicious. For dessert we had the lemon tart which is served with a torched meringue. I don't know how they managed to get the lemon just exactly tart enough but they did. It was so well balanced I caught myself trying to eat slower so it would last longer. The coffee arrived in personal french presses, with an egg timer to brew it just right. There was enough for two cups in each pot and is was perfect. The staff were excellent and the service was quick. The host made our short wait completely hassle-free. I can't wait to go back again.
