This was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I sat at the bar by myself and was impressed by the bartender, Tommy, who is truly a genius and a passionate expert in food and drink. Everything at this restaurant is made in house, from the homemade root beer to the homemade tonic. They source everything locally or regionally, making everything fresh and more interesting. I even requested a slightly obscure drink, which they didn't have, but they developed a delicious version of it from scratch called "Lions Head" (a twist on the original "Lions Tail"). It was truly superb. The staff at this restaurant truly love what they do and it shows. I hope to come back again soon. If you find yourself in Whistler, I highly recommend dining here.
Our experience at Alta Bistro was a pleasant surprise. It was unexpected to find such exceptional and affordable fine dining in the heart of Whistler. We highly recommend adding Alta Bistro to your dining plans in Whistler. The Table d'Hote menu offered perfectly balanced portion sizes and flavors, leaving us satisfied but not overly full. Each course brought a unique twist to traditional dishes. We enjoyed fresh oysters, caramelized shallot pear bisque, roasted hakurei turnip, chicken liver mousse, seafood tartine, pan-seared rockfish, and smoked lamb belly. The presentation of each dish was remarkable and Instagram-worthy. The food was outstanding and a delight for both the eyes and taste buds. Dining at Alta Bistro is a fantastic experience, from the beautifully plated dishes to the first delicious bite. This restaurant is perfect for any occasion, offering unique and creative dishes that will leave you wanting more. Food: Should Try! Service: Good Kids: Family-friendly Price: $50-$100 for two (Dinner) Presentation: Good Tips: They charge for hot water, you can make a table reservation through their website, and it's recommended to make a reservation, especially on weekends. Alta Bistro is slightly off the main Whistler Village. Would I Return: Yes
I recently dined at a restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere and attentive service. I decided to try the Wagyu, which was delicious but the portion size left much to be desired. The cheese board was a bit overpriced, with the blue cheese and brie being enjoyable while the third cheese was disappointing and bland. I also felt that a more traditional cracker would have paired better with the cheeses. However, the dessert was excellent.
Superior cuisine and pairings as we expected. Along with impeccable service. My partner and I found the value to be less when comparing like restaurants such as Restaurant 62 or Hanks that are in the same calibre to fine dining.
