I also love their limited quantity curry udon. *Please note that the portions at this restaurant are huge. For first-time visitors, I recommend ordering a half size. The kids' udon portion is also very large, so be careful! My wife and kids always leave this place feeling fully satisfied.
This is my favorite udon restaurant that I often visit. The noodles are on the firmer side with a good chew. However, depending on the time of day and how busy it is, you may end up with noodles that have been sitting for a while and lack that chewiness you expect from udon. It can't be helped I guess... What really stands out is the portion size of the noodles! The large size here is not your typical large size at other udon shops. If you're not confident in your stomach capacity, it can be tough (laughs). For first-timers, I recommend starting with a regular size. The photo is of the regular size "Nikutama Bukkake Hiya" udon. The tempura udon is also recommended. Overall, it's a delicious udon restaurant.
This restaurant in Kochi is a valuable udon shop that I would recommend to residents of Kagawa prefecture as well. It was crowded on Sundays and we had to wait, but thanks to that, we were able to enjoy freshly made noodles. The firmness and uneven thickness of the noodles reminded me of udon shops in Sanuki. The noodles have a good flavor and are delicious. The broth is a matter of personal preference, but for those who like it sweeter, adding tenkasu (tempura scraps) is recommended. It is delicious and highly recommended.
