Onde - Zelenogorsk

I picked Arcobaleno for dinner quite randomly as it was close to my hotel. The dining room was not busy at all, which for me is a good thing. Decor had lots of red and dark colors and I thought the mini curtains between the wall tables was a neat touch. I opted for to start with the cream of courgette soup with crab meat arancini. The arancini was plated in the soup bowl and the soup gently poured around it from a ceramic pitcher this was a very elegant touch. Bread offered on the side with complementary delicious cream cheese and tomato spreads. A decent, but not stellar selection of wines. My main course was a beautifully plated beef stroganoff with croquettes succulent beef, a rich, creamy sauce and topped with crisped onion, this was the most wonderful stroganoff I have had. Service was prompt and very professional orders were taken and dishes arrived quickly and I was able to pay the bill without waiting around. It wasn't just me, but a British couple sitting nearby and I talked afterward and were just really surprised at how we just expected a basicmeal and ended up with a superb one.

Don't let the décor fool you, the food is fabulous! Our waitress, Svetlana, encouraged us to try local Russian fare. We were not disappointed. The service was great and the food to die for.

Our party of eight ate here on our first night in St. Petersburg and were anxious for a good Russian meal. The food was OK when it finally was served , but the service was awful. This was the case, despite the restaurant being only half full. We were served the smallest glass of wine I have ever ever. One meal never showed up, after waiting for 30 minutes because of a kitchen problem The hotel Domina Prestige was a wonderful surprise but the restaurant was so so disappointing

House wine surprisingly good, particularly the red. Food was interesting and delicious. Fruit bread and Alu patra splendid Indian fusion.
