Contribuiți la feedbackPublic is a smaller restaurant in downtown Zeeland. Rumor has it they are closing in December, so make sure you check if they are still open before going there. I was so excited coming here after having the most amazing bacon grilled cheese and tomato soup for lunch. However, was very disappointed in my choice of dinner entrees. I got the angel hair shrimp pasta and didn't realize it was creole and very spicy. It also comes with andoullie (sausage). I did not like the combination and pretty sure there was more sausage than shrimp, which was disappointing. I do recommend getting the Buffalo shrimp and angels on horseback (bacon wrapped dates) for an appetizer if you decide to come here for dinner. I've been here for both lunch and dinner and I highly recommend checking it out for lunch instead of dinner.
I love dining at Public! Very small but cozy place with unique and classic dishes to choose from. When we arrived to the restaurant they honored our reservation and we were seated immediately at a booth spot by a window (lovely view). Masks are required when you are not at your table and they took down a number from each household. The service was definitely wonderful and our food was delicious as always. I recommend this little gem to anyone in the area.
This place was fantastic. From the appetizer to the wine list, main, then dessert! I had the Spy Valley Sauvignon Blanc, (fantastic! smooth with a fruity taste and scent, not too sweet. Just right! , the bacon wrapped dates appetizer (shared , fantastic. The 36 hour Pot roast grilled cheese with tomato soup, and the blondie dessert. We arrived with new friends and they sat us at a very nice table separated from the din of the main restaurant. We had a fantastic view of Main Street in Zeeland. 4 stars only because I felt pricing was a little on the high side. I got great compliments on my choice of this venue. It was my first time here, but it won't be my last! Thank you fellow yelpers for your candid reviews. I really appreciated finding this gem!
Good food at this establishment in the middle of Main Street in zeeland. They were out of a bottle of wine our friend wanted to order, but they do have a corkage fee of $20, so we went with that option. The Sangria cocktail I ordered was good and with red wine which is my preference. We ordered 4 different apps with the goat cheese and crab rangoon are my 2 of the 4 favorites: I'm not even a crab Rangoon fan either. And the goat cheese was a nice departure from the Spanish tapa style I'm used to. I ordered the parm chicken cutlets. It was quite tasty. The only 2 complaints I have is that it need more of the beurre blanc sauce and a plate vs a bowl for using a knife and fork for cutting the chicken and brocolini. The Mongolian beef and steak entree were ordered from our table and were both enjoyed: The potatoes that came with the steak were creamy, rush and tasty. Had the blondie brownie with gelato. The gelato was good but blondie was a bit as good as I hoped. Maybe it was the softer consistency that I didn't prefer for a blonde brownie style dessert. Overall, the dinner was good. Not much else open during this Saturday evening we came. Maybe that will change later in the summer?
I took my husband here for his bday this was our first time here and it was excellent, very unique with awesome drinks. The Creme Brule was to die for.
