Pho pad Thai - York

I am a huge fan of Pad Thai, but I have noticed that many restaurants can be hit or miss with this dish. Pho Pad Thai serves the best Pad Thai I have ever had outside of Thailand. The flavor and quality are exceptional. This restaurant is conveniently located near my workplace, but unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I am unable to eat here as often as I would like. In addition to the delicious taste, the portion sizes are very generous.

The location is a bit off the beaten track, but it is worth visiting. As the name says, the Pho was really good and the broth was very tasteful. My son had the pad thai, and it was also very good. Price point is up.... If you are looking for a delicious, inexpensive meal, this is the place to visit. It is not a beautiful place, but its clean and the hosts are very friendly. What else could you ask for? I'm sure I'll come back here.

The place wasn't busy when we arrived at a late lunch at 2:00. Hostess wanted to sit on the door. On a cold rainy day that wasn't an option, I asked for a place away from the door. We sat away from the door, but after a while we recognized next to the waiter's station. The constant noise of dishes our whole lunch. We were provided menus directly when sitting and within minutes a pot of tea. Sad, the service is over. It took 15 minutes to reorder the server. My meal came first with our appetizer. Our second order lasted another 7-8 minutes. The server would not take back my meal to wait the appetizers. The server has never returned. Not to see if we need anything, in fact, I had to get up after our meal to tell the server, we needed our bill. Obviously we sat at the table with empty plates for 15 minutes. This is a small open concept where the observations of customers are easy. The bill came and I paid with Debit, without tip. I usually pay cash tips to servers and always 20% for good service. This opportunity I wanted to leave only 10%, although for such a bad service no tip should have been the consideration. After the debit transaction, the server asked me and pointed out that the tip is not included in the bill, how would I leave a tip? Unbelievable that a server thinks because they discard a plate of food at your table will never be seen again, which guarantees a tip. This business really needs to work on its service, as the menu is extensive

This was our first family dinner at this restaurant. My son had read good reviews about it. We all enjoyed the Pho noodle soup, rare beef, and Vermicelli seafood dish. We plan on returning as it is close to our home. The service was average.

Typical Viet and Thai fare, good variety and good service. Place is not very large and for big groups of 8 12 might feel a bit crowded. Combos and appetizer platters are on the pricey side. Good pho selection with usual small, large, XL sizing. Decent...prices and fairly tasty soup, toppings. Soup itself could have arrived hotter in temperature. Pad Thai dish for price you pay portion is on small side. Fresh rolls are okay not really full sized or stuffed, copuld be a bit bigger size wise. $30 all in tax and tip included for the 2 entrees and one appetizer. Not bad dinner for 2 and will hit the spot for your Viet and Thai cravings. Portions could be a bit bigger considering prices you are paying. Nothing outstanding, but nothing really disappointing either.
