The Dinner Plate Family Restaurant

This charming restaurant in Tusket offers a high-quality dining experience without the pretentiousness found in bigger cities.

The restaurant did not live up to the high expectations as claimed. It was very expensive and while the meals were satisfactory, they did not justify the high prices.

The restaurant was beautiful. My dining companion and I enjoyed a dinner for two, and every dish was perfectly prepared. The scallops and creamed lobster were especially delicious.

Excellent restaurant. Pleasant staff and delicious food. The lobster poutine was amazing. Clean. Nothing fancy- just good food recommended by the locals.

So we pulled into The Dinner Plate at 1:00pm on a Sunday and we were the only car in the parking lot that wasn't from Nova Scotia. This was a good sign! When we entered, the dining room was loud and happy with big tables filled with families. Like so many places that we have visited in the Maritimes, our waiter was quick and friendly and had huge plates of food in front of us in no time. The food was substantial in volume and hearty in taste, with breading that was light as a feather. They have a great diner menu and great warm conversation, even for tourists like us. Highly recommended if you'd like to experience the local culture.
