Xtc Dive Center - Xcalak

I was doing a moto camp nearby and booted over to XTC to see what was there check them out so to speak. Super professional and welcoming staff. Great food (I ate twice), reasonably priced. All looked so good that I ended up going for an awesome PM dive with good rental gear, a capable and fun DM (thanks Andros) and to a great site. Thanks for the suggestion to go diving Vero I had no gear or anything but they got me all sorted out awesome. I am a DM and have done a fair amount of diving all over including Canada, Cayman, Bahamas, Cuba and Pacific. I rate this place highly and will be booking dive n stays here in 2023 with my wife. That, my funny Google friends, is what you call a recommendation.

We had a wonderful stay at XTC (and Flying Cloud Hotel). Vero and Andros do an admirable job running the diving operations and keeping things at the hotel on track. They are definitely stretched thin, but couldn't have been more hospitable and helpful. The equipment they provided was good quality, and their leadership as dive masters was impressive. And the diving wow!! I first dove the Xcalak reef over 30 years ago, and returning on this trip was overjoyed to witness the healthy reef and abundance of thriving marine life. We saw manatee, LOTS of big tarpon, eagle ray, lobster, eel, BIG grouper, schools of jacks, snapper, etc. and lovely soft corals and fans. Well worth the challenging trip to get there. Highly recommended!!

Did an amazing 3 hour snorkelling trip which included going through the Zaragoza Canal, seeing some underwater cenotes, along the Belize border river through the mangroves and then a few stops out on the reef. Friendly guide and all the staff at the centre were so lovely. What a great little community would highly recommend.
