Contribuiți la feedbackLast visited about years ago, so was intrigued to see if it had kept up with the times and was pleased to see it had. Food was basic but good when I went previously, this time food was still good with a varied and...reasonably priced menu. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Pleasant surroundings but icing on cake was Holden's Glow. If only I lived closer!
We booked this pub as my wife had gone before with a friend and found this place good. Any how, my wife phoned on Thursday booked for on for Sunday lunch meals for was advised that they would be able...to do a G/F Sunday lunch on the offer. So off we went, found our reserved seat at with a person (assistant manager) ? coming over to take our order only to find out that Sunday lunch had finished at finished, finito ,no more. We then asked what else the could cook us only to find out they could offer chicken. Okay we thought, past o clock came with no food in front of us so the wife asked a server when our food was coming, in seconds it arrived on our table The meal looked as it had been left on a shelf for minutes, the chicken was dry, the veg out of a steamed bag , the new potatoes' i had were hard i salvaged what i could of the meal as i was starvin like marvin' . My wife left her chicken because it was dry her parsnip because it was black. My wife complained to the server who checked to see if our meals were ok, The server said she would get the manager to come over. NO he did not. Anyhow we finished went to the bar, we did see the manager to complain. he got a little bit annoyed with my wife turned his back on her then told us both to leave. So we did. We are never going back to the Hare Hounds at Kiddeminster .So folks who read this Trip Advisor page it is up to you to go there if you want the same experience we had !
Today January my friend and I went for lunch at the Hare and Hounds. We regularly eat there at least once a week sometimes more. Today we arrived at : pm found a table and ordered our food, fish and chips,...scampi and chips both with peas and two soft drinks. We ordered and paid for the food at : pm by pm no food had arrived. my friend asked the waiter how much longer would our food be? He replied I'll Check on it by : pm the waiter had not returned and we were hungry and fed up so after of waiting we asked for our money back. The waiter told us that our food would be prepared but when We could not wait any longer and asked for our money back a second time. The waiter refunded the full amount. No apology was given or an explanation.. If that is how the staff treat regular customers then we will not be eating there again.
We went to an outdoor cinema experience to watch Grease. It was nice outing , a friend's favourite film and we all know the songs. Cinema food' was on offer..burnt fries and greasy breadcrumbed chicken. There were warm bottles of beer and wine being...served on an outside table. The food was bad. The pots with the sauces in were dirty. Huge lack of effort for people that had paid for a ticket and are then paying for drinks on top. Those fries and their smell will stick in my head a while. Perhaps we should have tried the proper menu. People inside seemed happy.
Good well presented pub grub , recently refreshed interior with new carpet . attentive staff . will definitely return soon
