Contribuiți la feedbackThis was the last day of their winter season. they will be closed to mai at some point. the lamb dogs were delicious. the Raclette remover was just right and unique for the valley here, with sweet potato under the melted Raclette cheese. if I went alone, I would order that, and dessert, and call it delicious meal. we go here once a month, as we did when peter steigler was responsible. on another note I asked for wheelchair access and they told me they had a ramp that they would get out for me. that is hardly acceptable. I think they could build a ramp on the farther away set of steps. or at least 2 tracks for the wheels and leave the steps open in between. I don't need a wheelchair right now, but I know people who do this, and they don't come here.
That was a total disappointment. we have enjoyed climbers for many years, but will not be back into the copper. the food was disappointing, the service was slow, the decor looks tired, and the love for the detail that became known to climbers was missing. for example, although the waiter traditional Austrian white heats wore, they were neither fresh nor ironed, and our lacked the traditional tie. overall, very sloppy everywhere. what a shame.
In the past we have loved every meal that we have had at Steigler's and now the Copper Bar. We were worried when the transition took place, but the new owners wisely decided to keep the same theme, menu, and chief. The food, ambience, service, etc. has always provided a great dining experience until last night. My children and grandchildren are visiting from Texas for Spring Break skiing. We decided to take them to the Copper Bar for dinner. While the ambience was still the same complete with a roaring fire, the rest of the evening was a disaster. The waiter was a great guy and retrospectively I should have handled things differently, but the meal was awful. First, 3 of the 4 adult meals were not what we ordered not even close. The waiter offered to take them back but we had waited so long yes, the wait time was unacceptable) for the meals to be served coupled with young children 6 and 10) tired from traveling, we accepted the meals. This was an extremely bad decision. The weinersnitzel which was incorrectly severed 3 of us ordered the Bratwurst plates) was cold and relatively tasteless. The usual sides which come with this dish were different and not particularly good. Again, I should have sent everything back and to his credit the waiter offered) but due to time factor, tired grandchildren, and a large degree of personal embarrassment in recommending the restaurant, I did not. The bill was significant around $250.00 which would have been fair had the meal come anywhere close to what we have become used to. Everyone can have a bad night and I hope that was the case with our meal. We will go back because for 30 years we have enjoyed this restaurant. If however our experience of last night has become the norm then we will reluctantly have to file Steigler's/ The Copper Bar into our book of pleasant previous memories. I hope our next experience and potentially our last) will come up to their previous standards. It has been a great place for so long.
We hadn't been since the restaurant changed owners and it is as good as it used to be. The food was great.
This restaurant features Austrian food. The food was well prepared and the service and atmosphere were excellent. It is fairly expensive though, so best for special occasions. You can also eat in the bar, but the menu is fairly limited. The menu and food are much the same as Stiegler's, the previous owner of the restaurant.
