The cafe is clean, bright, and offers comfortable seating. The homemade baking and sandwiches are top-notch, with especially delicious scones. The tea and coffee are freshly brewed and served hot. The staff are friendly and welcoming, making for a pleasant dining experience.
Stumbled on this place randomly walking down the High Street during a recent visit. What a gem! Excellent range of home bakes. As usual, the pair of us couldn't see beyond the Victoria sponge, so will definitely be back to test out some of the other mouth watering options!
The restaurant could use some tender loving care as the furniture is worn, tables are scratched, and the decor is outdated. However, the staff is friendly and attentive, which is a definite plus. The cleanliness of the toilets leaves something to be desired, similar to the overall decor. As for the food, it tasted good but the prices were a bit steep. Paying five pounds for a wrap with minimal filling seems excessive. In conclusion, the experience was average.
I don't think I have ever been served anything more disgusting I had macaroni cheese it was an awful stodgy mess with a strong smell of fish and cold in the centre. They were happy to reheat it in their microwave but it didn't help .My sister had the all day brunch the toast had been waved over the toaster so it was a soggy mess and it also had a strong odour of fish.
Visited with my disabled grandparents as it was one of the few places with wheelchair access. It looked a bit run down but we sat down nonetheless. We requested some information on gluten free options for my grandmother. She ventually chose a salad, which arrived with a bread roll on it. We assumed this was a simple mistake and raised it to the gentleman serving us. He simply took the bread off and gave it back.. We said that my nan was severely allergic and it couldn 't be touching. He argued that it wasn 't touching anything (it was sat on top of her salad and there were breadcrumbs on her plate! and only replaced the salad when we picked the breadcrumbs up to show him. The place even had a sign up saying to just ask about food intolerances and allergies but he clearly knew nothing about food! Had we not noticed, my gran would 've been very ill! Shocking service. We don 't go out for food to risk becoming unwell and I worry for others visiting. That exchange aside, the food wasn 't good. The coffee was one of the worst I 've been served. Limited options for an award winning bistro and so, so overpriced. The toilets were disgusting, the server was unapologetic and unfriendly. I wouldn 't recommend this place to anyone, I 'm afraid.
