Contribuiți la feedbackThis place is a nice little (5 tables, some outside on the inside), which is very individually decorated. Foods (mainly cakes and creps) are produced themselves, partly directly in the store. The service is great. In the case of people who have ordered via Deliveryando, there have been some complaints, I would say that it is more worthwhile visiting the place. We paid 15 euros for two cakes, a cookie and two hot drinks. That's all right, but some of them were in the store. Later guests were added. But even if the store is full, there is a quiet and family atmosphere. I can absolutely recommend the store. Those who travel in the afternoon in Rüttenscheid and have some time and pielust should definitely stop by.
I participated in the cupcake workshop with a friend. It has been great fun, we have learned a lot and got super many tips. How were a total of 10 students, which was a good size. The course is more for beginners! Of course we were allowed to take the final products. Very delicious : !
After looking past the café twice, and it was a day of rest (on Mondays and the other time ten minutes after opening, I wanted to give the shop – to whom a street sign pointed out – another last chance. The owner was very friendly and kind and attentive to my questions. Now to the most important: food. I ordered vegan muffins in two varieties: pineapple and blueberry. You win like most vegan baked goods maybe not a beauty contest, but make the micy appearance by price performance ratio (1€ per piece, its juice and the naturally sweet, tasty taste good every time! I'm leaning out of the window: These were the best vegan muffins I've been able to eat out so far. What I noticed: There is no independent website and the Facebook profile is not updated daily – you don't feel well informed and something outside is left out. A few atmospheric pictures from the shop and a daily upload to the dishes would be desirable and would certainly attract some other curiosity to the café. The street sign should also be repainted daily, which not only brings attention, but also shows the variety of changing baked goods and a quent love to the café. : What I missed was an indication of the nutritional values (calorie, additives, allergens – somehow I had expected this, because the road sign that animated me to visit was a lot of healthy treats, such as vegan muffins, smoothies and protein shakes. This spoke for a cafe that supports a conscious way of life and that includes for me tracking my food. The presentation of the baked goods could still be somewhat optimized and a small cash box area could be introduced where the products are protected from falling money. This has not happened – but almost and I would have found it very unhygienic. Overall, you can see that the café is still in the infancy shoes, but is operated with love. It just lacks a small touch.
Cookie Jar is a small café in a side street of Rüttenscheider Straße in Essen Rüttenscheid. From the location in the center of Rüttenscheids quite well. As a hint: finding a parking place there is sometimes a matter of luck : According to their own statement, the café was opened by two sisters at the beginning of 2017 who wanted to make their hobby a profession, because they like cupcakes and want to share it with everyone. We were there for a cupcake course. These courses may take place regularly on Saturday mornings. In addition, there is probably the possibility to book courses at different events, for example for bachelor parties, childbirth days etc. (optional by the owner to get customers for children's birthdays: so all the legs are diligently wide. According to the owner of the café, these courses are designed for 8 10 people. However, 20 people were there on this course day. Even though 3 people have merciful and wanted to come back at another date, it was far too full. The owner, however, already knew about this problem on the eve and unfortunately did not do anything to make the most of the situation (e.g. prepare more cupcakes, provide equipment accordingly or simply cancel people or at least not withdraw the cancellations. All participants were divided into 4 groups. During the course each group produced two freezings (fresh cheese and butter cream and a dough for muffins. Finally, the muffins prepared the day before were decorated. The muffins are made with dinkel flour, which, in my opinion, makes them harder and less fluffy, but this is a matter of taste. Butter cream is also not made from butter, but from margarine, because the owner does not like the butter taste. To decorate with the cream there were freezer bags with hole there (on request to decorate 4 tulle, of which were broken. For further ornaments, however, there was a large selection of sugar spices and cookies. The dough produced by the students was baked however to sell it later as their own products. The dough kneaders wore gloves, but... For hygienic and above all qualitative reasons at least very questionable. Especially a pity for students, because there were too little muffins and then not the variety that the groups had chosen. Summary of the cupcake course: much too many people, too little space, not enough equipment, only 1 3 muffins per person. The owner was not very well prepared, which she had with individual, puffed and otherwise justified. She also carried her bad mood to the outside. The floor in the store was extremely dirty and, according to the owner's statement, not completely finished or rebuilt as they were only in the store since January (i.e.: for 6 months. The course was with 25€ per person via a voucher portal (normal price is twice as high, much, much too expensive. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the cafe quietly. PS: As for the overbooking of the course, the owner shoved all guilt of herself and called the voucher portal as a debtor. Can be true, of course, but she has not done any great attempts to get everything really well. This appointment was also the second appointment we had booked with her. The first appointment was cancelled 3 days ago on the ground that we are on holiday. PPS: the courses may run better on other days or regular business...
I've been in the cookie jar a few times. Finally a café with very good quality and very warm owners and at top prices. I feel like in Berlin or in Hamburg. A beautiful style mix between timeless and modern. There are tasty full-fledged crêpes that I can fill as desired. Fresh and hot I get it served at the table. Soy Brownie hot is the hammer. Everything is freshly baked with dinkel itself. I can watch a la live cooking- live Baking: The Serrano Rucola Crepe is also highly recommended. You're getting tired. Always like to come in.
