Contribuiți la feedbackI love their bruschetta and the Pescara pizza.... but I was really impressed with the Burrata cheese puttanesca. Very friendly service.
Believe it or not we went and had the steak instead of going for italian. The food and wine were delicious and the staff great. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is that they didn't have the lemon panna cotta advertised and the tiramisu I had instead was HUGE...way too big for anyone to the point of ludicrous. It was easily 4 servings.
Milestones in Waterloo was closed so we thought we would try Veloce's as we both like Italian food. The restaurant has an open concept and seems quite family friendly. It was clean and fairly busy...probably because of Miletsones being closed for renovations. They have many of the Italian staples on their menu.We ordered a Caesar salad to share and a pizza and seafood pasta dish. My overall comment....I was disappointed with all of our food choices. The pizza was nothing special and it was soggy. I was served the wrong pasta dish initially and then when my seafood pasta came it was definitely not worth the wait. They stressed that they had fresh scallops in the pasta but they were teeny tiny and hardly any in the dish and the sauce was nothing special either.I usually try to say something positive about my dining experiences but I really don't have any for this meal. I was very unhappy with the meal and will not return nor would I ever recommend this restaurant. Sad face for sure because we are always looking for a good, authentic Italian restaurant option.
My wife and I arrived on a Thursday at approx. 5:45 to find an almost empty restaurant, which is never a good sign. Interior is quite nice and open, tables well spaced, Specials well presented on large chalkboard. We were seated quickly, server was well versed on specials, apps, soup of day etc. Appetizer special was fried mozzerella cheese, which we shared and it was excellent. We both ordered pizzas, neither of which was memorable. Nothing really wrong, just bland and rather tasteless. One thing that kind of bothered me was that the pizza station is positioned front and centre in the restaurant, so that you can see your pizza being made. But to me, the pizza guy had a very untidy work area (flour everywhere, and not being busy, had lots of time to keep it clean), and he gave a very poor first impression when you come in the door and see this guy with his hat on backwards, a dirty and stained uniform, and an absolutely filthy towel on his waist that he wiping the sauce off of his pizza cutter on. I can see why the place was so empty! Probably won't return.
Dishes were over sauced (escargot special), too many ingredients (mushroom risotto) or not cooked to spec (lamb lollipops were served med. well not med. rare as requested). The atmosphere and quality of food do not fit the prices paid. ($200 for 2, including 1 bottle of wine)
