Beautiful restaurant with delicious weeping celebrity was shown our group enthusiastic for our meal. we were treated with first-class service and kitchen. guilherme is a talented sommelier and gracious host. he has treated us with impeccable service for our lunch. so many unforgettable. only the amuse bouche and the brotservice were worth the trip. General portions on appetizers and entrees have only improved our experience even further. dessert was also delicious. trust the sommelier to select their pairing for each cure. he did a brilliant job. he was very generous with his time. it was really the highlight of our trip.

This place was recommended by the folks at Quinta Seara D'Ordens, and they gave us good advice. The soups and appetizers were especially good, and they had a huge wine list (specializing in Douro Valley wines).

Vila Real is a busy town at the top of the Douro valley region. It is an important and busy local commercial centre and popular with tourists on wine tours, etc. Unfortunately, it suffers from poorly planned road networks and there is a lot of traffic congestion and schizophrenic road layout. The old town is lovely but getting to it is a struggle. Also unfortunately, it suffers from a lot of dreary, boring restaurants serving rubbish, greasy food. In complete contrast, Cais da Villa `town train station ´ built in the old train station) is a breath of fresh air. Elegant and sophisticated food, with a talented chef, using wonderful local ingredients. The chef knows what the modern and sophisticated diner wants, with an international outlook and a modern presentation, lighter touch, proper seasoning and a fine interpretation of Portuguese classics. An amazing wine list and a rarity in a Portuguese restaurant a dedicated sommelier. We had a great experience, our 11 year old son was very pleased with the high quality kids menu with four choices). The steak was amazing and my wife´s salad fresh and very well prepared. Great ambience. Highly recommended.
