Pizzeria La Foca - VENEZIA

The pizzas are OK but they skimp on the toppings. The calzone is a joke it's basically just dough, you have search for the ham and mushrooms with a magnifying glass. The salads are fresh but way overpriced 6 € for a handful of salad is ridiculous. If you like to pay too much money for tiny portions, then this spot is for you.

My wife and I tried the La Foca Pizzeria Gastronomia on Giudecca because it is a short walk from the Hilton Molino Stucky where we spent a pre-cruise evening. The pizzeria is a mom-and-pop eatery with only three or four tables and is geared more for locals than tourists. That being said, the prices are very reasonable for Venice, you have a view of the Grand Canal, and the pizza is authentic and delicious. We bought a bottle of local white wine for about eight euros and got two pizzas for seven euros each. Add a bottle of sparkling water and we were out the door stuffed and happy for less than thirty euros. As far as the food went, my selection was a Diavalo pizza, (for Americans, a Diavalo is like a spicy pepperoni pizza) some places add little peppers to the pizza, La Foca did not, nor did it have much marinara. The cheese used was thick and delicious, the crust thin and perfect. It was my wife who won the lottery though..she ordered the Corti Grandi, a pizza made wth mozzerella, ricotta, spinach, and two other ingredients I'm not able to identify. The pizza was fantastic, remindng me a little of lasagna, this was the best spinach pizza I've ever had. If you want a nice cheap place to eat good food, drink inexpensive wine and watch the Grand Canal at a liesurely pace, La Foca is the ideal spot. Highly recommended for a good snack or light meal.

Had eaten a great night. the quality of food is very good and fresh. also the staff is very nice and happy to answer all the questions they have. a warm, traditional Italian experience!

Una pizzeria alla Giudecca, dalla quale si può vedere la bella Veneziana. ottima pizza, alta e fragrante, rotolo ripieno di verdure deliziose. abbiamo anche assaggiato la torta di cioccolato, senza uova e latte, una vera bacca. prezzi molto bassi rispetto ai locali. assolutamente da provare.

Si trova alla Giudecca, vista spettacolare nel canale. Personale simpatico, pizza strepitosa, pochi posti a sedere. Consiglio di andarci ma prima prenotate.
