Contribuiți la feedbackOur plans for lunch got messed up so we went for sushi instead. Never can go wrong with sushi in my books. Scanned for a new spot to try and found Yagoto Sushi Dining. It’s located right beside Evelyn’s Coffee Shop. We dropped in 20 minutes before they closed for lunch on a Monday afternoon but they were very accommodating and didn’t rush us. It’s run by a very gentile Japanese couple. Love the mom and pop shops.
Read some great reviews on Yagota, so decided to skip my usual neighbourhood sushi place and try Yagota instead. It definitely did not disappoint!I happened to come in shortly after it opened and the entire family said hello to me. I was only picking up food, but they offered me tea while I waited. Their little boy brought me my bill when it was ready (how cute! . I ordered my usual standards Spicy Salmon Roll, Real Crab California Roll Tuna Sashimi. All rolls were super fresh. The spicy salmon roll was actually spicy which was great, not always the case. Definitely will be coming back!
I tried their lunch special and was amazed. This restaurant offers authentic Japanese cuisine at very affordable prices. They maintain high quality without cutting any corners. The fish is fresh and the service is quick. While it may not be the ideal spot for a romantic date, it's perfect for a relaxed lunch.
I am amazed by the quality of food from an authentic Japanese chef on the westside. This will be my go-to restaurant before prices increase. The Gyozas were filled with lots of meat and tasted fresh, unlike other places where you can tell they were hasty defrosted. The House Roll had fresh pieces of sashimi with a light special sauce. The Real crab Cali Roll was the best I've ever had. The Tomago was made in-house but not as sweet as I would have liked. They offer free wifi, but the decor is minimalistic so it may not be ideal for a date night. The menu has a good selection of items, but don't expect crazy rolls with exotic sauces, as this is a Japanese restaurant, not Korean or Chinese.
I’m a regular at the local Kits Fitness World gym and typically I workout just before lunch time which means I’m starving the moment I walk out their doors. My usual go-to is a sandwich shop, Subway perhaps who are just down the street. Unfortunately ever since Little Bunny started joining me at the gym, Subway is no longer an option since she’s just disgusted at the thought of their sandwiches. Ugh… I still don’t understand it, but it’s forced me to try some other foods I wouldn’t normally have when in a hurry. Sushi is a relatively quick option and not something I usually crave after a workout, but (un?)fortunately there’s at least 5 different sushi options within a 2 minute radius of the gym doors so that seems to be the new favourite. Little Bunny was feeling exceptionally hungry which meant taking food to go wasn’t an option, so we had to find somewhere to eat in. I vetoed all the usual sushi places which left Yagoto Sushi as being the only one that I was willing to sit and eat in while drenched in my own sweat and stinking up the joint. That’s right… just picture it, take in that fresh air. Got it? Okay good.
