Contribuiți la feedbackWe noticed Soho Tea Room when strolling down the Cambie St /16th ave neighbourhood in Vancouver. We decided to drop in a couple of days later to check it out seeing that their menu prices looked very reasonable. Soho mainly serves Hong Kong style food which is getting more hard to find these days. Inside of Soho looked quite modern with many tables.
Decent food. I like the salt and pepper chicken that people talk a lot about. The soup noodles I got as part of the meal were bland. To be air the menu did not deceive them as having including anything that would give them a strong flavour. I have been here a few times and the other dishes I have had have been satisfying. I really enjoy their coconut taro bubble tea.
Meal: Pan fried fish filet baked in cream and corn sauce on a bed of spaghetti and club sandwich with fries. Both with hot milk tea/coffee. Service: Better than Congee Noodle House, refilled water several times. . Atmosphere: Busy, can be loud. . Bottom line: We've walked by here before but never had the appetite to actually have a meal. For debit, they require a $10 minimum which is fine if you order a meal or two drinks.
I've been here many times (at least 20 times)and they serve up good HK style Chinese food in this immediate area. Parking is limited to one or two stalls at the back but free street parking is available about 1 block east of Cambie street. The place is usually not overwhelmingly busy and you'll usually find a seat quickly. The restaurant is trying to mimic a hip/trendy style of HK style food with chalk drawings and menu on blackboards and menu that carry many dessert items. They also do a lot of beverages, from bubble tea to regular HK style beverages. Ex. Milk tea. Food ranging from set meals to many of the noodle soups are available and they are quite good. I have yet to discover something about the food that is not to my liking. Also prices are descent and a dinner will set you back 15 or so which is quite reasonable. As I've visited this place multiple times, this is one of those comfort food places I like going back.
I love late night places because I'm more of a night owl than an early bird, so it only made sense to try out soho tea room one night. Well, in reality I actually only cared for the tofu dessert because it was too cute! It tasted pretty average but in addition to that my boyfriend and I ordered the lamb hotpot, the deep-fried bun with condensed milk ad the DIY noodle soup. All the food was decent, pretty standard asian/taiwanese/hong kong bbt kinda joint in my opinion.
