Captain's Boil - Vancouver

Seafood restaurant. Shrimps come in a plastic bag to your table. Turned me off. Just too many plastic bags being served with meals. Waste and landfill is what I thought!

It was a decent dinner, with the Captain's Boil sauce being the most notable component. I ate a pound of shrimp with the Captain's Boil sauce, plus lotus root & okra sides. The decor is tasteful. The staff is efficient. But you are eating out of plastic bags. In a group, we paid about $25-$30 each. I wouldn't line up here, but a lot of people do & will continue to, as the food is decent, but the novelty is still fairly new in this neighbourhood so it keeps it interesting and popular.

This place opened close by, and after seeing some which looked like to be yummy posts on social media, we decided to give it a try. We ordered the fish and chips, which had no flavor and soaked in oil. The crawfish and prawns were tiny and came in a plastic bag with sauce. There's no plates, you eat on a piece of paper that lines the table which would be so bad if the food actually tasted good. We were very disappointed.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel, it didn't disappoint. We had the boiled shrimp, okra and the fried shrimp. It was incredible! Be sure and wear the gloves and bib, its kind of messy, but absolutelu delicious.

We ordered 1lb shrimp and 1 lb mussels and scallops fried rice. Each seafood comes with a big plastic bag. The best flavor of the seafood is captian's spice (as i remembered). Lots garlic and butter taste great. We poured the juice in the seafood bag to the fried rice. It makes the rice awesome! The seafood is very fresh, textures is soft chowy, all the shrimps has the head. I love it!
