Black Rock Grill Utica

I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner 4pm or so, first time customer. I sat at the bar, the bartender was wonderful, he appeared the hardest working person there, very attentive while no less than 4 other employees sat at the hostess area. I ordered a Prime Rib French Dip sandwich with Cajun Fries, I wish I could say it wasn't the worst French Dip I've ever had. To the cook, Blackened Steakums are not Prime Rib, American cheese does not taste like Swiss, Onions are not the primary ingredient, Horseradish has a taste the sandwich lacked entirely, Cajun Fries are not supposed to only taste like salt. Get the steak, probably better. Good atmosphere.

Server was excellent! Filet was tough! Ribeye was extremely marbled! Atmosphere is nice.

Everything we had was top notch from the drinks to the appetizers to the entrees. I ordered the coconut shrimp which was FANTASTIC but I was a bit disappointed I didn't do a stone cooked entree as my husband was cooking his steak lol. His steak was FANTASTIC as well ?

The first time I came it was amazing and the food was delicious. Less than a week later I brought my partner and they were out of the special, the burgers were flavorless, our waitress waited 30 minutes to even get our drink orders, and then another 30 minutes to cook and bring out two burgers. The only redeeming factor was the dessert which was very tasty. Extremely disappointed with this visit.

We had an excellent dinner (ribs! and just a really nice atmosphere. Our server, Marie, helped us discover wonderful selections and specials. Thanks so much!
