Loved the authentic Filipino Cuisine. I felt like I was in Quezon City. I'm going to revisit this place again. To be specific on Friday November 3rd. I can't wait!
Way overpriced. To my horror and the other people behind me this sweet rice dessert called “Biko” was $10.25 with tax. I wanted to return it but I was in a hurry. On top of that they charge 4% for credit card purchases. For a small shop in a kiosk, with one employee, I don’t think their overhead cost for business is that high. Avoid this place. There are other Filipino restaurants/bake shop that sells what they have for maybe half the price!
Please DO NOT wait to be seated as Manila Sunrise is basically a takeout joint inside Island Pacific Supermarket in Union City, California. Now favorite takeout options for me my usual partner-in-crime (hubby): the scrumptious tokwa't baboy, delectable arroz caldo goto, sweet melon juice complete with authentic melon strands. Take note that there is a minimum order amount if you pay by credit card. Overall impact: Winner!
Love the Palabok. I always ask my uncle from Carson to stop by Manila Sunrise before driving North to SF. It is owned by my cousin's ex-husband's family. The one here dont have enough selection since its not a restaurant. More on a to go side.
