Golden City - Troisdorf

I guess it is not the place you would go out of your way to, but if you are staying at the Holiday Inn Troisdorf to which it is attached you could do a lot worse!A tasty eat as much as you like buffet, reasonable basic Chinese at a good price and friendly staff.

Arrived and was given the normal menu that reflected most of the comments and reviews. I asked what fish dishes were available and another menu appeared that had fresh sea bass steamed in soy sauce. It took a while to cook but was well worth the wait. One word of caution is that they only took cash.

I don't get why this place is not in the first places... as you can see from the picture below, the food is very well presented and tasty too.It is next to the Holiday Inn Express in Spich (Troisdorf) and not so expensive. A nice and tasty alternative to the German food here.The portions are huge and they take very long time to prepare the food (sign of care and quality).Friendly service !!

After spending the day in Cologne, we were hungry and found this place. We were staying right next door at the Holiday Inn and we came across it when we were going to check into the hotel. The waiter was friendly (and spoke some English). I ordered a curry chicken dish (which I'll have next time I visit) with rice that was really good. I didn't think I would eat all of it but finished it all up. My husband really like his dish and we ordered something for the kids to share (even though they had wanted to go to McDonald's which is very close by) but they ended up eating the food and enjoying it. We definitely plan on staying at the Holiday Inn next door again and, when we do, we will be back to this place.

Don't be put off by the outside of this restaurant. Remember it's in what is primarily an industrial area. You can eat from the buffet bar or off the menu. Staff were friendly and attentive and we got our drinks and food quickly. Good size portions and food was good, staff were happy to add more chillies or make small changes to the menu published etc. Located next to the Holiday Inn Express we were staying in it was very handy for a quick meal. It is not a romantic restaurant but if you just want some good quality hot food then it's fine.
