Barbecue Inn - Houston

We recently visited an older BBQ restaurant in Houston that is renowned for its fried chicken, and we were not disappointed. I ordered a large baked potato topped with pork, which was excellent, and the salads and French fries were also great. We had read and heard that the fried chicken is the best, but it takes about 25-30 minutes to prepare since it's made to order. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to wait this visit, but we plan to try it on our next trip. The service was very good, and our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time while still hot. The salad was fresh, accompanied by their house-made ranch dressing, and we also indulged in some delicious cake. We brought back some chocolate and coconut cake to enjoy later that night. We will definitely stop by again; it's worth the trip!

This is a lovely, quiet restaurant that’s definitely a favorite among long-time customers. The food is made to order and is quite fresh. Our waitress, Teresa, was wonderful—very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is very family-oriented. I was a bit disappointed with the chicken fried steak; many reviews praised it as excellent, but it was just good. Perhaps my expectations were too high due to the rave reviews. On the bright side, the southern fried chicken was absolutely delicious!

This place is always great. Typically, I understand everything because it's all good! they have a relatiw small menu, but several items are available differently. some of my favorite and the huh fried steak, fried shrimp, stuffed crab, cheese burger, all the grill plates, french fries, kartoffel salad, garten salad, and the pie don’t forget the pie!

My meal was exceptional. The homemade thousand island dressing was excellent, and the chicken was fantastic. Although there was a mix-up with my order which delayed my meal, my waitress was attentive and ensured everything was taken care of. The owner even comped my meal. The service was outstanding, and they went above and beyond to satisfy me as a customer. Bravo!
