Scuderie Savini - TERAMO

This used be Scuderia Savini and we loved it as a bar. Unfortunately I think it only has a license as a restaurant now so we can't enjoy it for just cocktails anymore! However, it's restaurant is also good, and it is wonderful to have such a choice in Teramo. I personally wouldn't rate it number 1, just for seafood I think ther are two better restaurants. We tried the antipasto completo, which consisted of many different antipasti, a small primi and frittura, with 2 glasses of house wine for €35.00, which is inline with other seafood restaurant prices in Teramo. The antipasti were interesting and experimental. Some working well, some not so well, but I applaud the attempts to be creative. The prima was good, between the table we had gnocchetti, spaghetti and one other. My gnochetti was pretty good, and one of the pasta dishes was gluten free which was much appreciated. The main area that let it down and the reason for only 3 stars was that the frittura was very poor. very heavy, very dense, likely due to low oil temp so it soaked up a lot of oil, with frittura being such a staple of the area this was very disappointing. The house wine was average and they ran out of Cerasuolo. Service was good. In particular they catered very well for a number of the grop who had a number of allergens.

This was our third visit in the past 2 months and deservedly this place has secured the #1 spot on TA for restaurants in Teramo. Under the new management and chef, the menu is forever changing and the chef is confident and capable to try variations and interesting flavour combinations with the dishes he prepares. All too often seafood and fish restaurants in this region stick to tried and tested traditional grilling or frying, but here expect something different. The ambience is lovely and the waiting staff impeccable, especially the maître d' she remembered us from our past visits and our preferences. We'll be back!

The place was beautiful, elegant and welcoming but of course the best thing was the fresh fish food. I asked for an aperitif. The dishes were delicious, the waitresses were friendly and the price paid was right for the quality. I would recommend everyone to go.

Prima volta in questo ristorante. Bella location, ambiente pulito, servizio impeccabile. Ottimo cibo, antipasti gourmet buonissimi, piatti curati nella presentazione. Prezzo proporzionato alla qualità del cibo. Lo consiglio vivamente
