Contribuiți la feedbackWe enjoy eating in il fornetto and often visit the facilities are very nice, well laid out and clean and is a few blocks away from the center. carmen, the owner, was trained in France and Italy. I recommend the il fornetto for Italian cuisine. in tequis.
Great food. new Italian cook and great new recipes. they have delicious pasta dishes and delicious handcrafted pizzas.
Awesome al dente pastas with sauces made of creams and Mexican flavors. great portions. external and internal seat. faster and polite service.
I think there are 3 Italian restaurants in Tequis. Maybe 4. This one, at least to me is the best. Very nice ambiance. Seems to be quite clean too. The kitchen can be viewed as you walk by it when being seated. It has windows,...so nothng is hidden from view. I have eaten a couple of different dishes there. Their pizzas are very good. But, they make a Fruta del Mar (excuse my spelling) that is delicious. And, their salads are good too. The people who work there are friendly and so is the owner. I am an American, and have eaten in many Italian joints , most family places in old Italian neighborhoods in N.J. So, I think I qualify as a good judge of Italian food. Trouble is, what is called Italian food in Mexico hardly resembles anything I am familiar with, especially in the smaller towns of Mexico. Lots of times the Mexican Italian restaurant owners cut corners. For example, they will use Mexican cheeses in place of Italian ones. Many buy inferior cheeses just to save money. Same goes for other ingredients they use. Most use inferior ingredients. I do not think Il Fornetto does any of that! In the big cities of Mexico, you can find some great Italian food. For a place like Tequisquiapan, I would say Il Fornetto is pretty darn good. As for PierBover 's remarks, they might be exactly as he says. Nothing 's perfect in Mexico. And, good help is the same all over, namely, it is often hard to find. Bad help can kill a business. Bad comments come from bad service or food. I am making no excuses for Il Fornetto. Just saying that things do go wrong on occasion. No one likes bad service. My experiences with Il Fornetto have generally been very good. Would I recommend Il Fornetto to others? For sure, and I have too. Vic Piaszik N.J.
We waited 2 hours for 2 pizzas. One vas good, and the other was terrible. We ordered a simple Caprese salad to eat something while waiting. After asking for it many times, we got it 5 minutes before the pizzas. The service ignored us most...of the time, we had to ask for everything we wanted 3 times. It seems this place was a small restaurant before, and after growing they don't know how to manage more tables. The place wasn't even full when we got there.
