Ruth’s’ Chris in Metairie is a gastronomic feast. We’ve been customers for over 35 years and experienced the same quality and superior level of service. Ask for Lynell, she is amazing!

I was disappointed in my latest visit to Ruth’s. As always, the steaks and the service were excellent. However, the 3 sides we got were overcooked. The honey butter bacon Brussels sprouts were very overcooked and stringy. There was no bacon or honey butter on them. The sweet potato casserole was undercooked and not creamy. The baked potato was very overcooked. They changed the cheesecake recipe. It’s not the light and fluffy one. It’s a dense one with a hard, compacted crust. The complimentary one they give the birthday person is now a small cupcake size.

I never leave negative online reviews and I am a longtime loyal Ruth’s customer, but this experience was so abysmal I felt compelled to write in. My husband and I placed a to go order that the online ordering system said would be ready in 45 mins from time order was placed. We showed up at that time only to be told they hadn’t even started on our order yet, and they were extremely backed up and would not be able to tell me when it would be ready. We proceeded to sit and wait another over 30 mins, and spent another 40 dollars ordering two glasses of wine for while we waited. When our food finally did arrive, Andre (great bartender and person) said they had included a few extra sides for our troubles- so all good in my book. However, when we got home and took out the food, it was only to find that they had forgotten one of our sides, and that the stuffed chicken I requested extra stuffing in in fact had NO stuffing and is so incredibly undercooked I can’t even eat it- please see photo for reference. We tried to call and tell them what happened, only to be told that the manager is “trying to seat 500 people tonight and doesn’t have time to speak with us.” If you’re too busy to properly cook your food, please take less reservations and stop taking to go orders. Unacceptable and sadly, they have lost extremely reliable customers over this. See you soon, Mr. Johns!

Had a pre-Father’s day celebration! The server (Chris) was top notch. Food was great and the experience was amazing!

Staff amazing great food. Bring back the broiled tomatoes !!
