Contribuiți la feedbackFrom what I can tell, the experience you have here is heavily influenced by the expectations you have walking in. It is an old place, needs some work done on the building. However, the food itself is not bad at all. They have a diverse array of foods and desserts, from sushi to ice cream (which I will compliment on, the ice cream is competing with purdy's quality-wise) and all of it is pretty good provided it's what you're looking for. If you can order normal chinese food I feel you'll be accustomed to this place well. It's greasy but it tastes good. I love the spring rolls. Take some friends and see what you think!
Omg! whiners...whine and whine...wth you expect?? A cheap buffet and great foods too??? Wake up. You want to eat asians but can't handle the grease? LOL! Stick to you all you can eat SALAD then and take your mommies there with you so you whiners can cry all you want. Geeee....losers<br/
Basic food and simple service. When I visited Hong Kong and toured the instant cities in the new territories I experienced a number of eating establishments that catered to the Chinese workers and passing trade. They all had the commonalities of cheap prices, basic decor, buffet service, inexpensive cuts of meat, wide food selections, and lots to eat.. The restaurants had one purpose in mind: to feed people with a satisfying selection of food. There were no gournet pretensions or catering to refined or finicky tastes. Cleanliness standards were not in the squeaky clean spectrum but neither I or my travelling companions ever suffered any discomfort caused by what we ate.The Oriental Buffet fits the mold of those eateries. I have eaten at the Oriental numerous times and have gotten more than my money,s worth. The usual foods are available wonton soup, chow mein, sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli, fried rice, etc. There is also a grill for cooking your own chicken or pork steaks. The selection of sushi is impressive and availabe fruit and desserts offer satisfaction to most appetites. The oriental may not appeal to all patrons but if you want an inexpensive and reasonable meal it's a good alternative to paying for glitz and decor.
I have gone here whenever I come to Surrey ever since I was a kid. Some people I know came here since my last visit and said it has gone downhill. Their experience could not have been more different from mine. The food was hot and well stocked. Sure a bit greasy but that is to be expected from what we call Chinese Food. I look forward to the next time I come in and can eat here again.
Wasn't Bad. I thought this place was pretty good.. The outside looks grungy but when you get inside it looked clean on a Friday afternoon. The food was deep fried greasy and sweet and salty. Isn't that what American style Chinese food is? I am from Calgary maybe BC people are used to a higher standard but it seemed about the same as what you would get in Calgary. The dim sum tasted good everything was pretty tasty except for the wonton soup broth which was watery but the actual wontons were good. Selection isn't the biggest (i've had buffets with over 100 items around this price point , there isn't any big ticket items like snow crab or steak or anything but its not bad for $10.99.
