Cammies - Stonehaven

We had a wonderful experience at Cammies. We went in for lunch on a weekday, it was quiet and we received prompt and friendly service. The location is quite remote but the surrounding views are beautiful. We had nasi goreng and laksa both were beautifully presented, full of flavour, and had a generous amount of seafood. We were very impressed with the menu which included lots of fusion South Asian seafood dishes (as well as local classics like Cullen skink) a breath of fresh air, and truly something new in the local dining scene. Punya, who served us, took the time to talk to us about the food and to explain about the different types of Sri Lankan teas available (and we ended up buying some to try at home). We really enjoyed our visit and are already planning the next one.

This was our first time here since it re opened (other than having a takeaway . They didn 't have our table booking for some reason, but managed to accommodate the 6 of us. The food was great overall, but some of the sides were not available, such as the potato dauphinoise. It did take the staff a good while to advise of this, but alternatives were available. I would say the staff were very friendly but there were a few things which were a bit 'off ' no cooler/ice bucket offered when we ordered prosecco. Would have expected a member of staff to fill the glasses initially too? We had to ask for a cooler. The main dishes were served a bit sporadically, but they all arrived within 5 minutes of each other. We loved the desserts! Overall, would recommend. The portions were very generous. In fairness, would give a rating of 3 1/2 out of 5. We did have a laugh and a good night :

Brilliant place. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Brilliant place to take young ones as they have toys to occupy if they start acting up. Food is flawless and really interesting menu! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
