Skipper Hot's Bar & Lounge

We travel and friends suggested this place. we had passed. we went in. for the size of the city it was crowded. my partner wanted some seafood, I wanted a burger. in the typical Newfoundland style was told to my partner that the Skippers plate... was better than the fish and chips. I was told that they were too busy to cook burger or chicken (it was on the map), but I could get meerese or poutine! So I ordered to the previous rat. when we sat, we slept on a local craft beer, as everywhere in newfoundland, we talked with the neighbors. the eating was hot and the basket was stacked high! in contrast to most plates of this type, only a small portion of frits, 80% was delicious morsel of seafood! highly recommended! almost a persist they have to go!

My husband and I have been visiting Juli for years in Newfoundland, but we had never dined at Skipper Hot's until now and I can't understand why. We had heard about the live music and the band's CDs, so when we were feeling hungry this year we decided to give it a try. We were expecting typical pub food, but were pleasantly surprised to find a diverse menu of fresh, homemade dishes. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu and describing each dish. We both tried the delicious moose burger and moose stew, regretting that we hadn't sampled them sooner. We won't make that mistake again and are already looking forward to our next meal at Skipper Hot's!

After being denied entry to a restaurant in the late afternoon while hungry, we opted for pub food instead. To our surprise, we were delighted with delicious fish, crispy chips, cold beer, a friendly bartender, and complimentary Wi-Fi. We were so impressed that we wanted to extend our stay to enjoy the live music in the evening once again.

The best burger we had in weeks. all patches are handmade, not frozen. fries were thin pommes, no wedgie. gravy for pommes was super. very clean, friendly and close to the national park. great little spot!

We had a fantastic dinner with delicious food and excellent service! They offer local beer. The restaurant is very clean and cozy.
