Caines Grocery & Deli - St. John's

Caines Grocery was right across from our hotel. They have a nice selection of basics that you might need. They also have pre-made sandwiches and some snack items. Friendly staff!

Some of the friendliest people run this place! Thank you Dave for the most wonderful Jigg's Dinner and compliments to the chef. Unassuming area to eat, but extremely reasonable price for all the food you get and they will cook it there or takeout.

I loved popping in here on my way back to my hotel, the Sheraton. I would pick up pop, water, chips etc. The staff I dealt with were very friendly and I felt like they recognized me and appreciated my business. I had their roast beef sandwiches which were delicious and the banana bread can't be beat; very reasonable prices, to boot. Thank you, everyone! You are a great part of St. John's!!

In general the restaurants are very expensive in St. John's. This is a quick cheap alternative directly across from the Quality Inn Harbourview. Home cooked comfort food!

We stopped here for fresh sandwiches before our return flight as they are near Hotels on Duckworth. They make fresh daily and much better than other stores, they also do hot lunches that are great from deli.
