El Bandido has achieved what very few restaurants anywhere ever do- and that’s to remain in business continually for 44 years!! That doesn’t happen by being second best. There aren’t any other Mexican restaurants in Rockland county that even come close to offering the congenial and authentic atmosphere that El Bandido does. Long time owner Manny Tello RIP left a lasting legacy for his staff to live up to, and they do!! Always warm and welcoming, guests are quickly seated and served the best nachos and salsa anywhere! (get an order to go when you leave). I’ve tried for years to get the frozen margarita recipe from them, but they never budge.... “it’s a secret!”. Not enough good things can be said about El Bandido; I’ve eaten here for the last 25 years and have never once been disappointed. Cinco de Mayo, Christmas Eve, midweek in August or February it’s always a fun time. Don’t second guess this gem. El Bandido delivers every time, all the time!! Cheers!!

I was looking around for a place to eat in Spring Valley and found this online. I was very good and I would go back.

Walk in and you are surrounded by art and decor that suggests you are in a courtyard in some Mexican village. The menu is provides all the usual appetizers, entrees and desserts of Mexican cuisine with combos and specials. Service is attentive and timely. The food arrives hot and well seasoned. We will be back!

The atmosphere at the restaurant was very inviting the food was delicious but I felt a little rushed. Other than that I would definitely visit again

Were looking forward to a family celebration with good Mexican food but unfortunately on the hottest day of the year, there was no air conditioning so we had to leave. Cannot comment on food
