Holiday Inn Spearfish-convention Center, An Ihg

We had a bad experience in this hotel. I am usually not a complainer, but long story short, our room was not clean, had a bad smell and very dated. After complaining to the reception, they dragged us into another room. we have brought our things into the new room in the second floor. the door was cracked. the beds had not been made and the room had not even been cleaned by the night before. they tried to get us into a third room, but this time we were pretty disgusting. we left the holiday inn and were in the hampton inn in lead. I was in many holiday inns, but that was the worst.

A failing Holiday Inn. Many items barely work. Poor Wi-Fi coverage in room. Old, worn building and rooms (needs full refresh and upgrade). Poor services (e.g. limit coffee available hours).Basically, your typical worn-out Holiday Inn.UPDATEMore items not working in room. Changed to 1-star.Probably worst Holiday Inn I have stayed at in over 50 years.

A little on the older side, but a great location. Rates are little more reasonable than some of the other locations in the area. I would definitely stay again.

Stayed for two nights at the Holiday Inn Spearfish Convention Center. Our room faced the indoor courtyard pool area, and dozens of unsupervised kids threw balls against the walls until 11:00 p.m., including our hotel room wall. The staff did nothing to stop it despite our complaints. The sound came right through into the rooms and we needed earplugs to sleep. The second night, the mayhem in the indoor courtyard pool area continued with dozens of unsupervised kids screaming and banging balls against the room walls, without a parent in sight, and no help from the staff. Later the second night, a wedding party started, with a band that was so loud that the bass sounds vibrated our floor and bed, keeping us awake until midnight. We complained to the staff, who said there’s nothing they can do. They simply didn’t care. We STRONGLY recommend you consider a different hotel when visiting the Black Hills area (there are many other choices). This one is the noisiest room we have ever stayed in, and nothing was done about it. Avoid this place at all costs.

The rooms are dated! We got here and turned on the ac being poolside and it started smoking! Our fire alarm went off. Our fridge made a very loud buzzing sound and the cabinet it was in, didn't shut all the way. I paid $300.00 for one night! However, the beds were very comfortable and clean! Then we ate at Lucky's the restaurant attached. It took almost an hour to get drinks and put in our order. The food was good but we filled our own coffee in the lobby because we never saw our waitress except one time to see how everything was and to give us our bill.
