Chocolat - SOVERATO

The best croissant I've ever tried! A pure pleasure for the eyes and the palate. In addition to being nice and big and soft, the dough is a perfect mix between brioches and puff pastry. The filling gives ample space to imagination, in fact there is the possibility to choose between Nutella, white chocolate, pistachio cream, cream, various jams, hazelnut and even some flavors of ice cream. My favorite flavor is Pistachio Cream White Chocolate. I also recommend the Black White Crepes with the addition of puffed rice (a small Kinder cereal: pure enjoyment). Reasonable prices and fantastic service. Oh I forgot, the only flaw is the lack of seating, so takeaway is necessary, but it makes up for it with a fantastic municipal villa with several seats. In short... I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!

I've been going to Chocolat since I was a young man of 17, especially on those Saturday nights after midnight that we all experienced in Soverato. Now I'm 36 and I'm coming back after 5 years of being away from my homeland, and I couldn't wait to enjoy a nice super stuffed cornettazzo like in the old days. Honestly, I don't know about you, but although the croissants are always large and well-leavened, unfortunately I can't say I was as delighted as I once was. Very little filling. As for the crèpes, I wasn't satisfied with the dough and filling either. Perhaps all this is due to the management that is left today to young guys who show little passion in what they do, furthermore he didn't even use gloves to take and fill the croissant. Prices are also more expensive, but this is unfortunately due to a general increase in prices in the area. I think I won't be going back again at this point.
