Mug House - Southwark

The Mug House is a combination wine bar restaurant. If you are seated close to the bar section it may be a bit noisey. Where we were seated was fine. The first waiter was attentive and wine selection very good. The food was good but felt the steak was overpriced. Liked having the trio of deserts as well. We booked the two for one offer which if we hadn't felt that the meal and wine was overpriced.

It was our bad luck to be there when a number of parties had taken over parts of the restaurant. Including some from the previous lunch time. And they cannot be held responsible for loud groups. The food and wine were very good. The service was slow painfully, they were obviously under manned. Our waiter when he was with us was excellent, but it was the pain of having to remind him of drinks speed. I've been there other evenings and its been quiet and relaxing (even at the same time). Just bad luck. Will go back.

Very nice ambience. Not very busy tonight, and perhaps because of this the staff were very attentive.

Great place for a catch up with friends, good meal and friendly service.

Lively cellar bar with plenty of restaurant seating. Good, friendly service.
