Carmody's - South Stradbroke Island

We went to Carmody's for my husband's birthday & enjoyed the "ladies lunch' menu which was very well priced for 3 courses. The barramundi was cooked to perfection and the pana-cota was delectable. The service is always first class and the restaurant is bright and cheerful. We would dine there regularly if we lived on the Gold Coast. It's definitely worth joining the club as you get your money back after one birthday meal.

The service was excellent, with friendly and engaging staff. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the pork spare ribs. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, making it a perfect spot to impress someone or a client. The restaurant has an upmarket feel to it.

Great spot for lunch or coffee. Good selection of lunch items including fish and chips, choice of rolls, and sweets.

It is a lovely restaurant with, in our experience, excellent staff. The food is fairly expensive and a bit of a let-down. The mains we had (pork belly and roast duck) were dry with very little sauce and even less vegetables. The desserts looked like they were priced reasonably but we didn't try one. All in all, at over $120 for the meal plus wine, we don't intend going back.
