Phở Cali - South Sarasota

This place must used to be owned by Vietnamese people but were sold to Chinese people or some other Asians because the menu is the same but the flavors are not authentic Vietnamese . The one in the east coast of Florida PHO Cali is more authentic. Different owners and different chefs. The OG (original restaurant with the Pho Cali name where it became famous would laugh at these flavors that are nothing even close to good authentic Vietnamese flavors.

I ordered the pho ga which was very bland and I had to ask for more cilantro. The tap water they serve with lime tastes like sewage. Bathrooms smelled like sewage and you have to walk past the back of the house to get to the bathrooms. It did not give the impression of neat and clean. This place is about $5 more per plate than my regular Pho place but they are located on Main Street Sarasota so I guess that is why they are a bit over priced.

Food is good. Restaurant is clean. Entered with a friend that was not well dressed. Owner accused us of stinking and asked us to leave. Ignorant. Ate here for 10 years. Working class eatery.

One of our absolute favorite restaurants! We love the Lemongrass Tofu w/ Chilies Onions #117) from Pho Cali. The kids always get the Fried Rice with Tofu, it’s their favorite meal in all of Sarasota. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating and have no issues when we request our meals being made vegan. If it was up to my sweet 8-year-old daughter, we’d go at least 7 times a week. Ha, ha! Highly recommend Pho Cali, we always feel so welcome here. Dietary restrictions: We’re vegan, and they always go above and beyond making sure we’re taken care of. Kid-friendliness: Our whole family always feel so welcome here.
