Buena Vista Winery - Sonoma

Lovely little vineyard, the staff were very friendly knowledgeable. I would say you would want to be a member to make the most of this place. There are no fees to join just an obligation to buy a certain amount of bottles every few months. But that membership can get you a number of free wine tastings that can cost around $220 a go. So membership is def worth it, if you’re only within an hour or more drive away.

Without half-stars this is the ceiling. BV doesn't merit a 4, and here's why. Customer service was very good, pricing was as expected, and the decor ambience were cozy, comfortable and mildly unique. If you have not visited, this is one of the most picturesque properties in the wine world. On the negative, the service dynamic was a catastrophe. BV has many unique wines not found at other wineries but one will fail to appreciate their nuances because the glasses are not changed between pours. That is amateur hour regardless of reason. There was also no observable host, which one could reasonably expect given the pedigree of it's new owner. The tasting room is also guilty of some mid-grade narcissism and stylistic pandering, but I would still recommend a visit. Many of their wines are quite delicious. Dress warmly until May.

We did the winery tour and barrel tasting. Just excellent! Our guide was the one with the silver ‘stache and beard and he was an ocean of historical knowledge. It was story time for adults wine, what could be better? We learned a ton about the history of the winery, the Sonoma region, and of course the winery and its wines. The wines we tasted were also amazing. We will probably become members soon. LOVED IT!!! Can’t wait to bring friends next time. A to our guide who made the experience for us.

Probably the best wine tasting I 've ever had in the Sonoma Valley. Leela was a fantastic guide within the wines of this historical property. We spent 2hrs tasting fantastic wines and discovering the wines and we also get some tasting advices. Really go for it !

This is an absolute must if you are ever in Napa or Sonoma! Our tour guide, Don was so personable and heartfelt… It was the best visit we had! We went from laughing, to at one point, having tears in our eyes from the moving stories about the winery and their history. Not to mention, their wine was very unique, and of very high-quality. If you have ever seen their fun packaging, you would know they make the sheriff wine! One of the most beautiful locations we visited while in wine country. The outdoor is absolutely exquisite and the inside has so many unique rooms. You’ll think you’re in a movie! 10/10 recommend!
