Mortensen's Danish Bakery - SOLVANG

So, I drive past here thinking MAYBE I will drop by on the way home. YES, I finally had the nerves to. And this time, instead of ordering Kringle, I got these pistachio pastries because I did not want to break my bank and getting really picky when it comes to sweets. Still, it was pricey. 3 pieces and spent less than $9, which is expensive for food, I personally think. But quality wise, I was in HEAVEN. I had one of the pastries while driving home and was ranting and raving about the selection I made. Of course, I always pick the best foods. Always have and always will. Coming back for more of those good pastries. The downside is the unbelievable tourist traffic. All the people there gawking and looking at me was just a bit too much…..I got it then took a look at the shops then made my way home!

We wanted to try traditional pastries in Solvang. This place was recommended by a friend, we tried other places, but that was the best overall. Customer service was great and the pastries tasted fresh. My favourite was a square pistachio pastry, but all we ordered was delicious! The outdoor seats were really sweet and this bakery is close to some restaurants and wine tastings.

Delicious pastries! We stopped here for breakfast after the half Marathon, and the pastries were such a great choice. Enjoyed sitting outside with a lovely outdoor seating area. Good black hot coffee too!

We stopped in first thing for some baked goods and decided to get some cookies and a rum ball. The Rum balls are sooooo good! Definitely try! Prices aren't bad either!

These cookies are so tasty! The chocolate swirl cookies are delicious crunchy yet melting in your mouth with the right amount of cocoa flavor. Love the maple flavored cookies as well as the almond sugar cookies.
