Contribuiți la feedbackI was trying to learn about Napa Valley Sonoma wines for an upcoming vacation so wanted to visit a wine bar to get educated. A web search showed that most wine bars in Singapore have a heavy emphasis on French wines then I saw Praelum which offered an extensive wine list by the glass at reasonable prices. My visit turned out even better than expected and all because sommelier and General Manager Gerald Lu was dedicated to making wines wine knowledge accessible to his customers. I ordered a wine flight from Napa/Sonoma and had 2 whites (Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay) and 2 reds (Pinot Noir, Zinfandel). Gerald then shared his extensive knowledge about Californian wines as we drank the wines the climatic conditions, why the wines turned out that way, grape varieties in each region, biodynamic wines, use of oak vs stainless steel, Judgement of Paris 1976 etc. It 's like receiving a personal tutorial from a Master Sommelier and that 's because Gerald is taking one of the hardest exams known to man the Court of Master Sommelier (featured in the wine cult movie 'The Somms ' and less than 230 people have passed this wine exam since it 's inception). Gerald also went out of his way to offer recommendations for food vineyards in that region and connecting me to cult wine makers.
Went there for Valentine's Day dinner this year and it was one of the best meals I've had in awhile. The team knows how to recommend wine according to your food ordered and it was perfect. Overall, my experience was phenomenon! Thanks!
Really great wine and service. Food was good however portion size really small for what you pay.
Came here for Restaurant Week 2015 one heck of a taste explosion I keep saying this, but I was never a ribs person until Texas changed me. Now I understand that the really good ribs simply fall off the bone fortunately I now know how to appreciate those! This was exactly that; a slow cooked for 3 hours kind of heaven. Seafood casserole, I may be biased, but I love anything seafood. A good mix of different kinds, a great proportion of everything harmoniously coming together with perfectly cooked potatoes cheese. the Crème brûlée was simply one of THE best I 've ever had in my life. Another plus point about this place impeccable service polite waitstaff (including the owner himself) who are so attentive to every detail really made this dining experience very pleasant. I 've never experienced such stellar service in any dining establishment in Singapore, not even the 'higher end '/fancy schmancy poshnosh kind of places. yes, I just had to let them know I had a very enjoyable time.
Food portion is jus nice and delicious. Wine variety is good.nice place to chill out
