Nineteen80 - Singapore

I happened to pass by while looking for a place to chill after dinner and chanced upon this retro bar with 80s joystick arcade games. It was amazing that the game was inside my table, and the joysticks at the table's edge. No service charge was charged for our drinks, which were really delicious concoctions so kudos to the bartender. I will definitely remember this place with such a wide variety (almost 800) of nostalgic games. It even came with arcade tokens that were free flow as long as we bought drinks!

I tried the Dirty Taters ($10.90), which is a delightful blend of tater tots, cheddar gouda cheese, and fried chicken bits. It was really enjoyable; I love tater tots and chicken, especially with the sauce they drizzled on top. While it’s hard to elevate fried food to another level (as it generally tastes good on its own), I found this dish quite satisfying. Next, I ordered the B.L.T. ($11.90), which features a crispy chicken tender in a hotdog roll, topped with chicken bacon, lettuce, cheddar cheese, and honey mustard sauce. It wasn’t as impressive as the Dirty Taters, so I’d recommend getting two orders of the Dirty Taters instead. I also noticed there were two tables equipped with screens for playing games, but unfortunately, they were reserved, and I didn’t get a chance to try them out. Perhaps I’ll visit again to experience that!

It was my first visit back since the whole COVID situation, and the place is now massive! It's a shame we can't use the arcade machines anymore, but that's totally understandable. The music is fantastic as always, featuring a great mix of 80s and 90s hits. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that they now offer vegetarian-friendly food options! I can't wait to try those on my next visit.

It's fantastic! It’s such a joy to relive a bit of my childhood while enjoying some beers! This place is definitely a must-visit.
