Loved the atmosphere, came here for my birthday and so glad I did. Spoke with one of the bartenders Jason about our passion for dance and he told me the history of Lindy Hop (I hope I'm spelling it correctly). It was another bartenders birthday and she cheers me with a free shot. Like it! Definitely a local-jazz experience, not for everyone. Service is friendly in general terms, but not expect guided tours (like many tourists in the reviews). Great main and support performers.

The music in this place is great it will take you to another world.

As dingy and funky as you’d expect from such an old and storied venue. We attended the Paper Machete show 3pm on Saturday afternoons — well recommended, extremely sharp and entertaining and good music too, a wonderful show

“Green Mills” is fascinating. There are evenings when, when the Jazz or Swing band is on, it feels like traveling back in time to the 20's and 30's. The story goes that the famous gangster “Al Capone” used to be a regular customer of this place, and he even has secret doors and passages (not open to the public). So if you are one of those who is inclined to know historical places, “Green Mills” is one of those that you must visit.
