Saint Anna Bakery - side

I've been to St. Anna very often. Especially whenever I feel blue, I go there to get HK milk tea and pineapple bun. Friendly workers. By far, this is the only cha chaan teng, or Hong Kong-style cafe in the Windy City. They are more attentive if you speak Cantonese.

A great find! My friends and I always buy buns/pastries from here when we go to that area of Chinatown. The prices are very good and the food is absolutely delicious!

Baked Portuguese Chicken Rice is the best here! Highly Recommend!

Be forewarned: this is a hole-in-the-wall, like 99% of bakeries in Chinatown. Don't go for the decor, go for dirt-cheap baked goods drinks. Nice strong Hong Kong-style milk tea that you won't find at trendier Boba shops, since they use flavored powders instead of tea bags. I've tried every bakery in Chinatown at this point and this one is hands down not only the most authentic but the best in my opinion. Their egg tarts are heavenly! The crust, texture, and taste are well beyond the others. I got over a dozen different things and we loved every one! Staff was so nice and hospitable!
