The mood is dark and illuminated and usually very busy with lots of fun people. But last night was completely different. I haven't been here since the pandemic, but we were excited to come back. I came here with my friend and we ordered a chicken quesadilla and a burrito, we had a drink each time. My friend had a strawberry margarita and I had a beer. Our bill came to $99.86 crazy!! We thought that was a mistake. I couldn't believe my eyes when I got the bill. The food was pale. They can completely say that they have cut back on the quality of the food they are now serving. The food used to be so good and now it's just blazing. The service also went down. We had to ask for Salsa six times and try to shadow someone to fill our water again. I've been coming here for many years and always enjoyed this place. It's hard to say, but I'm probably not coming back. The food quality is terrible, it is completely overpriced, and the service has gone downhill. I'm really disappointed!
Yes I'm here to be a tourist. I had already eaten before I came here. I just wanted to sit at the table in Hollywood once. Probably not to do the most professional thing, but I'm pretty sure it's happening a lot here and I'm pretty sure they've benefited from a set location for the movie. Server was friendly when she was there.
I have been here a bunch of times, it?s right down the street from me. I always order the lobster enchilada and table side guac. Food does take a while to come out. Normally I am so high and drunk from so many margaritas that it doesn?t matter. It?s not the best Mexican in town, Mexicali is better but this is where Leo and Brad went?. So I go here now.
Is Casa Vega touristy? Yes. But that?s probably the reason why you are there so you shouldn?t be shocked at it being busy, rushed service, expensive, etc. I thought the food (while overpriced) was great! They have all the classics and any of their combo plates make a great meal. We started off with the Tostada Chiquita, which is kinda like a taco salad on a tostada? It was worth going back for by itself. The restaurants decor is classic and really makes you feel like you?ve stepped back in time. Service was good, but a bit rushed. We never had to worry about drink refills or plates being removed. I would come back in a heartbeat!
Best authentic food I?ve tasted in awhile! The restaurant?s interior is beautiful to say the least, and the food is just as delectable. I choose to have a burrito, but as I was eating my food I watched a table nearby order house made guacamole. The wait or mixed it up right in front of them and it was amazing to watch! I loved this whole experience, the only thing is that the entrance can be a bit hard to find ?
