Contribuiți la feedbackWe came for Valentine's, the food is quite good and the building is marvelous to be in but the service although hospital was painfully slow. We sat down at 6:30p and couldn't leave until 9p Also we came when it was -7c outside but indoors we were still shivering the whole time and had to keep our jackets on. I get old homes don't have modern heating but that's no excuse to not throw a heater in the corner or something. Service: Dine in
This place is more haunted than nearly any place I’ve had the pleasure of dining at. Across the street is calgarys old money gentlemans club where they eat orphans on solstices, big smoker outside they build a wooden fence pretty tall and put a tent around the cooker but I know all about what’s just a few feet beneath ground here. One of the intersecting inner points of the underground yyc that is of course shaped as a pentagram topside south, see the artists depiction of the Barron building down closer to the courthouse on Stephen ave? Look close at the guys face in the logo he’s red and orange like flamesdownward facing pentagram behind his head too. And that’s a villain moustache if I ever saw one, well a 1930s robber baron variety anyway. Calgary is all about the stampede every June so I get the appeal. evil appeal lol
Nothing like running into Santa at Lougheed House. I have taken the tour of the house twice and keep learning more every time I tour. In the summer the grounds are kept up so immaculately by the Conservation Society and Maintenance people. The staff are a delight to talk to and give you so much information that it is hard to take it all in. The restaurant uses miuch of what is grown on the property. And of course, we can't leave out the award winning restaurant, Lougheed Restaurant with Chef Judy Wood. Starters I have had include Golden Beet Salad with Goat Cheese Pecans and a Citrus Vinaigrette, White Fish Croquettes with a Lemon Herb Aioli and Coconut Prawns with Orange Soy Glaze. The mains I've had are Croque Monsieur- Ham, aged cheddar and bechamel sauce grilled between slices of Chef Judy's Sourdough Bread on Gluten Free, Roast Chicken Salad on Mini Brioche w/ Toasted Pecans served with homemade potato chips mixed green salad and Roast Chicken Pot Pie.
Read my sister Erin Estor’s post...terrible customer service when booking for an event
I'll start by saying that I never post reviews and I am an understanding and forgiving person within reason; however, in case anyone is considering booking this venue for a special event, I wanted to strongly caution people of the stress and disappointment that my family and I endured during what was supposed to be an exciting time for planning. Our experience with Lougheed House has completely drained and robbed us of that. We had looked at venues to host my baby shower s...
