However, the service quickly deteriorated afterwards as the bar staff were extremely slow and took their time serving the long queue at the bar.
This restaurant has a fantastic location with a view of the harbor. It is a classic Spoon's pub with a wide selection of drinks, delicious food, and affordable prices. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating.
The restaurant was easy to find with parking available across the street. A longer stay permit can be purchased at the tourist information in the car park. The staff was friendly and check-in was a breeze, with the receptionist being particularly helpful. The room (317) was a bit difficult to locate, but after some common sense searching, we found it and were pleasantly surprised by its cozy yet spacious layout. The room had two windows, one overlooking the harbor and the other facing the shops, yet there was no noise from the road. The in-room amenities included a good selection of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, and water. The bathroom had the walk-in shower that I had requested prior to arrival. Ordering at the restaurant was easy using the app, and service was prompt. The Central Hotel had good amenities and an excellent location near the seaside and restaurants. It is worth noting that some parts of the building are old, as it is a Grade II listed building. The uneven flooring took some getting used to, but it added a quirky charm to the place. The elevator was slow but not a major issue. The pillows were a bit hit or miss, with some being too soft and others too hard. The duvet could have been larger for the bed. Despite these minor issues, we plan on returning in the future.
Great location. Plenty of tables. Very popular with tourists like me. Given the number of people in there, the service was understandably slower than the usual Wetherspoons experience. Went twice whilst on holiday, first time they were short of a few things but had been restocked when I went back a few days later.
Booked a room on 18th December for tonight. Unfortunately me and my partner have come down with bad colds. I called to see if it would be possible to change dates but was told no and no refund is possible. They said nothing we can do sorry. Maybe this is a bit unfair me giving a review but I was pretty fed up with the lack of effort to do anything at all. We could just turn up and spread our germs everywhere with no regard for others but we will just pay the £125 and get over it. We have stayed here before and dined on several occasions. We wont be coming back. Thank Angel hotel.
