Contribuiți la feedbackWell located, in the heart of the saulieu, this restaurant could seduce if the atmosphere was at the rendezvous! a quite correct terroir cuisine except for desserts, bad and too sweet. no interest in having pizzas on the menu. Very good service. ice friendly: unlit areas, dark colors, black oak woodwork, French ceiling painted in dark brown, no music, an unused living space in which we could have taken the aperitif and coffee, a superb bar with an old and false bistro atmosphere. What a shame when a simple reverberation old metal screens would deserve to be filled, authentic art deco luminaires need some extra light bulbs only, ...
With our smartbox, we decided to go for a little swamp. On the meal side, it's simple and chichi-free but it's very well cooked and presented. on the wine side, we chose a marsannay which, of course, went very well with our pieces of charolais but also, surprise, with foie gras and chocolate mousse. At the same time, we made a great leap back, at a time when the highway did not exist, or dumaine reigned as master of French gastronomy and where trenet sang the national wanted pleasure to not come:
We had booked and the table was set up for six. the set menu, child menu and a la cart were very good value, beautifully presented and well cooked. the wine list has a good choice and is reasonable. the service was friendly and helpful when only a little pressed. we all enjoyed each other.
Asked for a table of four and fast sitting and given menus. we were the first people in the restaurant and in the next 15 minutes five couples came in, sat and were offered drinks. we were still waiting to be asked what we wanted to drink, let alone eat. so we could not wait for them not to serve us. I can't comment on eating as a result.
A very nice old building, the rooms have been renovated, are clean and comfortable. old designed double windows keep the largest part of the noise away from passing through the traffic. French breakfast with croissants, obst. the service is very efficient and professional. we were a few nights out. business in the environment. remember that restaurants do not accept them after 21 o'clock.
