It is a restaurant with a very pleasant atmosphere for lunch with friends or dinner as a couple. It offers a menu with ancestral flavors and very interesting fusions. Before each meal, a symbolic ritual of the Kogi culture is performed. The desserts are out of this world with careful presentation. There are vegetarian and vegan options. This is a special restaurant unlike any of the touristy, kind of interchangeable cafes I have visited in the colonial district of Bogota. The menu focuses on indigenous and indigenous-inspired cuisine from Colombia. As the server brought out each course he explained (in Spanish) and performed with us traditional meal-time rituals with herbs and oils that elevated the meal to something sacred and reflective. In a city that, to my gringo eyes and ears at least, does not broadcast its indigenous heritage Chamánico stands out as something different. If you’re in Bogota make sure to pay a visit!
